General Manager/Vice President at Jackson Spring and Manufacturing Company

 

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic leader to helm the operations and strategic growth of Jackson Spring and Manufacturing as our General Manager/Vice President. The successful candidate will drive the development, performance, and maintenance of our manufacturing processes, aiming for efficiency, quality, and profitability.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing setting.
  • A solid grasp of accounting principles to effectively analyze financial statements and manage operating costs.
  • A pragmatic yet optimistic approach to problem-solving and leadership.
  • Previous experience in the spring industry is preferred but not required.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee manufacturing operations to ensure superior quality and efficient business practices.
  • Nurture key relationships, manage risks, and strive to exceed performance targets.
  • Supervise and manage the lifecycle of accounts payable and receivable, with a keen focus on aging reports to maintain a healthy cash flow.
  • Oversee production schedules, ensuring that the manufacturing process aligns with demand and operational capabilities.
  • Monitor the utilization of raw materials to maintain efficiency and cost-effectiveness throughout the production cycle.
  • Evaluate and recommend capital investments to enhance productivity and drive growth, aligning with the company’s financial strategies.
  • Regularly review and fine-tune operational standards, costs, and overhead allocations to meet or exceed profitability targets.
  • Lead all aspects of personnel management, including recruitment, performance evaluations, terminations, promotions, and salary adjustments, fostering a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Lead and collaborate with the sales manager to scrutinize sales activities and opportunities, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to the sales manager, ensuring clarity in roles, responsibilities, and the achievement of sales targets.
  • Undertake travel as necessary to address operational challenges and to engage with customers, strengthening business relationships.
  • Encourage a culture of innovation and initiative, allowing individuals to contribute uniquely to our objectives.

There will be an initial 3-phase training period so that the candidate will possess a ground-up approach to understanding our business.

  • Phase 1 will consist of working side by side with shop floor personnel, production schedulers, QC personnel and various department heads. This is to familiarize the candidate with the scope of our operations.
  • Phase 2 will shift the candidate into estimating and scheduling to learn about our production process.
  • Phase 3 will focus on office operations. The candidate will then be trained on using, accessing, and implementing all of our systems.

 

Compensation

Salary in the range of $130,000 to $150,000
