Customer Service Representative

Position Summary

We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to join our team full-time and onsite in Elk Grove Village. In this role, you’ll serve as the bridge between our customers and our production team, ensuring timely, accurate order fulfillment and building strong, ongoing relationships. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries, providing prompt and accurate updates on orders, products, and lead times.
  • Initiate, process, and revise customer orders; track and expedite as needed. Production work order generation.
  • Manage Blanket Orders and Stocking Agreements.
  • Coordinate with external processors to ensure on-time delivery for key accounts.
  • Maintain close communication with key customers on order status, changes, and delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, finance, and production teams.
  • Monitor and maintain order schedules to ensure production aligns with delivery targets.
  • Investigate and resolve customer issues, working with other departments when necessary.
  • Proactively engage customers to support retention and satisfaction.
  • Notify the sales team of quote requests, invoicing matters, or customer concerns.
  • Reach out to customers regarding excess, obsolete, or current inventory.
  • Provide administrative support to sales, marketing, and production as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a customer service role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with spring or wire forming products a plus.
  • Experience in the metals industry is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Global Shop preferred).
  • Understanding of basic manufacturing processes and blueprint interpretation (or willingness to learn).
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues efficiently.
  • Strong multitasking, prioritization, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; general computer literacy required.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
  • Self-motivated with a high sense of urgency and problem-solving capability.
